Support Easttown Library

The Easttown Library & Information Center has proudly served the community since 1905, providing literature and information for enjoyment, enrichment, and education. Your Annual Fund donation will support the day-to-day operations of the library, such as programs, staff salaries, new books and technology, and upkeep of the library. Your contribution ensures that the library can continue to innovate as the needs of our community change while remaining true to our mission. Your gift speaks volumes!

MATCHING GIFTS – Amp Up the Volume!

By taking advantage of your employer's Matching Gift Program, you may be able to double the impact of your gift. Some companies also will match the gifts of spouses, retirees, and directors. Please check your employer's guidelines and forms for specific information as to how to enhance your gift to the library. Guidelines and forms are often available through your employer's Human Resources department or website.

In December 2015, Congress passed the "Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act." PATH makes permanent the IRA Rollover provision allowing individuals ages 70 ½ and older to make direct transfers from their IRAs to qualified charities, such as Easttown Library Foundation, in amounts up to $100,000 annually. All qualifying distributions must be made before December 31st. These direct distributions to eligible charities are free from federal taxation and income taxes. Since the IRA Charitable Rollover provision has been made permanent, you can use this tax-advantaged method for outright gifts to the library in 2017 and beyond.

This is a perfect way to make an annual gift to the Easttown Library Foundation - to benefit you and the library.

If you wish to make a qualifying distribution before December 31st, contact your IRA administrator and request the direct transfer of funds to:

Easttown Library Foundation
720 First Avenue
Berwyn, PA 19312

Please note in transmittal correspondence that your gift is "to benefit Easttown Library Foundation."

CREATE YOUR LEGACY – Join the Elsie Jardine Legacy Society

The Elsie Jardine Legacy Society, named after our first librarian, recognizes individuals who have informed us that they have included the library in their estate plans. No matter the size of your estate and regardless of your age you can ensure the library continues to be a relevant community resource now and well into the future. Your will, beneficiary designation, or trust empowers you to name the people and the organizations, such as the Easttown Library Foundation, who will benefit from your hard-earned assets.

One of the most common planned gifts is naming the library as a beneficiary in your will, IRA, qualified retirement plan, or life insurance policy. These methods are revocable and will not affect your current finances. You, however, will create a lasting impact on your community. If you would like to learn more about how you can become a member of the Elsie Jardine Legacy Society or have already made a planned gift to the library, please contact Nancy Rosin, Development Director, at (610) 644-0138, ext. 20.
