Privacy Notice
The Easttown Library (the “Library”) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to its website. We ask visitors to our site to provide their name, e-mail address, postal address, and/or telephone number only when needed to assist in answering your inquiries, providing information, or providing you with access to activities, programs, resources, or services offered through our website. The information you will be asked to provide will enable you to access services offered only at the Library (e.g., meeting room rentals, proctoring, etc.) or virtually (e.g., online events), while other services (e.g., library catalog, OverDrive/Libby, databases, etc.) are offered to all library cardholders throughout the Chester County Library System (“CCLS”) and may require your Library barcode number to access.
Please read this Notice in its entirety. You may contact us with any questions or comments by using the contact information listed at the end of this Notice.
Please note that this Notice applies only to the Library website and specifically does not apply to other companies' or organizations' websites to which we link.
Sharing of Information
In accordance with the Confidentiality Policy of the CCLS, we will not sell, lease, or otherwise distribute or disclose your e-mail address, postal address, phone number, borrower records, or other personal information to non-Library affiliate partners unless required by law.
Email and Mailing Address Preferences
The Library sends notices to customers who have provided their email addresses for that purpose or have opted-in to a mailing list. Emails may be used for library news, event information and registration details, and fundraising. Mailing addresses may also be used to send information about Library events, services, and fundraising.
Customers who wish to be removed from general Library mailing or email lists may contact the originating department.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”)
We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone younger than 13 years of age. If a user submitting their postal address, e-mail address, or telephone number is suspected of being younger than 13 years of age, the Library will delete this information from our records in accordance with COPPA. We will never disclose a child's personal information as full name, address, etc. ("information that would facilitate or enable the physical or online locating and contacting of a specific individual") without written approval from a parent or legal guardian. In accordance with COPPA we will only display on our sites a child's first name, last initial, and/or age on our sites to announce contest winners and display user submitted comments.
